Links with SU Scotland

We are a partner organisation with Scripture Union Scotland working closely alongside the SU worker for Perth, Kinross and Fife – Bruce Lockhart.

There are three associate trusts and workers in the Fife area:

GROW (Glenrothes Reach-out Worker) is Gwyneth Duff
KART (Kirkcaldy Area Reach-out Trust) worker is Chris Beattie
K2, Kingdom 2000 worker is Gavin Thomson

What do we do?

• Work alongside churches
• Equip, enable and encourage
• Resource and support
• Give training
• Challenge young people

What does the Youth Worker do?

In schools:

• Assemblies in both Secondary and Primary schools (approx 250 so far)
• These provide a fantastic opportunity to reach hundreds of children and young people every week with the truths of the gospel and values that make sense of life.
• RE lessons in Secondary and Primary schools
• Within an educational context, we explore and discover more about who God is.
• Topics like: Christmas, Easter, Journeys (the Exodus), What Christians believe about death, Faith.
• Scripture Union Groups
• Opportunities for children and young people to meet regularly, to find out more about who God is and what it means to be his friend.
• It is also a crucial time to support Christian children and young people as they seek to live for God in school.

Out of schools:

• Weekend and week long camps
• Holiday clubs in Burntisland and Wormit
  Beach missions in Elie
• Training events to equip other leaders
